TAURUS VOICE IN PERFORMANCE

Snapshots
of the soul in search of love… A theatre performance with classical, modern
and contemporary poetry.
Devised by the company Performed by Adrian Brett, Adrian Locher, Penelope
Wildgoose and Eleanor Holliday. Directed by Michael Chase.
'Voices in Love' is a hilarious, tragic exposition of love, woven out of stunning
poetry, sublime a cappella song and finely choreographed movement. Visually
beautiful, the show has been selling out and causing audiences to whoop and
cheer. This is poetry as you've never heard it before.

For the first time the company is rehearsing for a children's play. It will be a production of the Snow Queen (based on the story by Hans Christian Andersen), with script written by Eleanor Holliday. The aim is to tell the story in a way that speaks to a modern family audience. It is a piece that portrays the transition from childhood into adolescence and about the power of individuality and love. It offers children an imaginative look at the issues around this delicate time such as friendship, loyalty, courage in the face of challenges, truth and deception. The company of four: Adrian, Eleanor, Penelope and Adrian will be in the production each taking on more than one role and using puppetry as well as song and movement.
The premiere will be at the SPACE here in Stroud on Saturday 4th December at 3pm. Further perfomances are as follows:

(performed by the TaurusVoice Training Theatre)
Often spoken of as Shakespeare's greatest masterpiece, this epic tragedy reveals the best and worst of humanity. Its mighty themes of love, power, jealousy, revenge, madness, forgiveness and betrayal take the audience on a journey through human experience.
TaurusVoice Training Theatre's accessible, contemporary production reflects how the play's themes are still played out in human lives and on the world stage today.

There is also a sequel to Voices in Love being planned, called Voices of Freedom.
It will be performed by the same cast as Voices in Love and will be a development of the style of that piece. The aim is to ask questions about freedom and, using existing poems as well as commissioned new writing, to explore constraints that are placed on individuals by political authorities, societies, circumstances (disabilities), and an individual's own nature (limitation). The aim is to allow 'prison' as a metaphor to inspire the audience in their own quest for freedom.
Premiere Thursday
17th - Thursday 24th March 2005
The Everyman Theatre
